Reflecting the growing importance of the wider primary care team, Guidelines Live is aimed at practice-based pharmacists and practice nurses, as well as GPs. We will be discussing the most common conditions that you see in your clinical practice. Highlights are described below.

Tuesday 19 November

Dr Kevin Barrett will be chairing the stream and presenting a session on the new and updated inflammatory bowel disease guidelines. This stream also includes guidance on managing irritable bowel syndrome in primary care.

The role of the pharmacist in primary care

GP clinical pharmacists are a growing and increasingly influential group of primary care clinicians who are taking on more of the management of long-term conditions in general practice. This is alongside the delivery of the service specification for primary care networks.

With this in mind, we have partnered with Soar Beyond Ltd. to shape content for the GP clinical pharmacist audience at Guidelines Live. This will also support practices to consider where best to apply the skill set of the clinical pharmacist to improve patient care and reduce GP workload.
