NICE guideline on stop smoking services and interventions

mcq thumb

This Guidelines in Practice CPD activity consists of 5 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) designed to test your knowledge on stop smoking interventions and services—you will then be prompted to reflect on your learning.

The questions, written by Louise Ross, relate to her expert article, E-cigarettes can be a useful tool for helping smokers to quitwhich summarises updated NICE recommendations on stop smoking interventions and services and highlights the relevant points for primary care. These questions have been developed for your CPD.

On completion of this activity, you should be able to:

  • identify specific groups for whom stop smoking interventions should be prioritised
  • inform patients who enquire about e-cigarettes
  • offer very brief advice to patients about stopping smoking.
