NICE has published NICE Guideline (NG) 119 on Cerebral palsy in adults.

The care and support needs of adults with cerebral palsy depend on the severity of impairment and the presence or absence of co-morbidities. NG119 makes recommendations for healthcare professionals in primary and secondary care, covering:

  • access to services and ongoing review
  • support with communication, vocational skills and independent living, electronic assistive technology, and physical activity
  • managing spasticity and dystonia
  • assessing and monitoring related co-morbidities and difficulties.
