A group of colleagues on the evidence based council at the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust are working together to review two frameworks currently in place within the Trust for assisting healthcare practitioners with evidence-based practice.

The group is hoping to develop one unified, comprehensive model that encapsulates all the steps that need to be considered in developing and promoting evidence-based practice.

These steps include defining a topic, finding evidence, appraising evidence, developing evidence-based standards, changing practice and evaluating those changes.

We are trying to gather as much information as possible, and would be very interested in hearing from colleagues about any models, systems or strategies that they are using to inform the whole, or parts, of the process of promoting evidence-based practice.
